. Cantina Light Pictures was founded by Sam Legaspi. Sam’s resume reads like a random walk albeit a very interesting one. He has worked directly with Fortune 500 companies in an advisory capacity, spent 13 years on Wall Street, and produced - directed - and wrote - a series of educational videos. Through it all Sam still remained true to his first passion - photography. Sam’s love for photography started in high school while taking pictures with an oatmeal box as an assignment for the yearbook class. Amazed and fascinated by the results from an oatmeal box, Sam soon secretly began using his dad’s Nikon F3 (the don’t use or else... camera) and saw the world in a whole new perspective. Today that perspective has changed a bit but the “story created behind the lens” continues to fuel Sam’s passion for photography. Sam’s main interest involves wedding photography. “Each and every single wedding is a small budget movie. There are the main characters, a supporting cast, a director, and producer’s (typically the people spending the money). Not to mention the plot and the story behind the story. The photographer needs to somewhat inherit the role of “the director” in that he/she needs to be responsible for making all things come together in the form of “still film”. “The show” comes together through the creative editing of the “still film”. Sam started Cantina Light Pictures after realizing the growing needs of engaged couples. The average wedding now has a budget north of $22,000.00 wherein ten years ago the average budget was significantly less. Unfortunately for some couples their incomes have not increased in line with the costs of todays weddings. The wedding photography industry has experienced sharp rises in the average price and it is not out of the ordinary to pay more for a photographer than an engagement ring today.
